ABSH Art Festival

ART CHANGES THE WORLD

Do artists have a responsibility to take their work beyond the ‘art world’ and into the ‘real’ one? How can art really influence daily lives? Join an exquisite group of artists from ABSH schools to present the role of art and its possibility to influence contemporary politics, enact social change and improve the world.

This year´s Art Festival is opening a space for experimentation and artistic expression that will be developed in two phases: the art competition categories and in parallel the exhibition of works and artistic activities. The themes and / or models for the original representation will be provided at the beginning of the competition, this in order to assess the actual development and technical mastery of each participant. Just as last year, this competition will not be subject to prior preparation of work. We encourage students to show their talents without using preconceived ideas, thereby promoting their creative and analytical capacity.

The world in which we live in is in need of values that will guide our actions, relationships and ideals. As artists we believe art is the highest form of expression therefore DelCampo International School encourages all participants to express their artistic ideas through a value system that is very much needed in this world. The implications of changing the world through art are endless. For this competition please use notions of art that encompass a value system and concepts that touch our society. Guiding themes are described in order to give participant students an idea of what may be asked in the contest:
