What makes Honduras so special?
Honduras has many tourist places that makes it special, our beautiful country has a wide variety of beaches for all tastes, from white sand beaches such as those found in Islas de la Bahia, to dark sand beaches, bathed by warm ones Caribbean waters or the rough waters of the Pacific.
Honduras is the cradle of the amazing Mayan civilization that flourished in the west of the country, particularly in the site called Copan Ruinas, being today a cultural legacy. Honduran cuisine is very varied, as it contains pre-Colombian, Spanish, Creole and, to some extent, African indigenous elements, as is typical throughout the Central American Atlantic coast.

What is it like to work at DCS?
Coming to live in Honduras might sound like a daunting task. When I was thinking about coming here I had some reservations, because my family will come with me. I did some research and noticed that where the school and homes are located are on the outskirts of the city and in a security place. I knew then that it would be far from some problems. The house is in a gated community, my daughters play outside with friends until it's dark and I don't worry about the security. The school has tight security, too, with guards at the gates and a fenced campus. There's even good security at the malls, restaurants, and grocery stores.

Honduras is a breathtakingly beautiful country. Only a few hours drive outside of the capital, Tegucigalpa, you can appreciate the healthiest and beautiful areas of the environment. When reading about Honduras in the foreign press, it can seem like a very dangerous place to be; unsurprisingly, the reality is not quite so. Coming to DelCampo was the best decision I ever made!
The school staff and students are welcoming and have made me feel part of the family. At DelCampo, there are leadership opportunities that have allowed me to work with schools and school leaders from across Latin America, and as I say, coming here was the best decision I have made
